Most European campers and vans have one of two front seat layouts: two single seats, often swivel captain seats in a motorhome, or a driver seat next to a double passenger seat. Choose your covers by that layout, not by the badge on the bonnet. Two single seats take two single seat covers. A driver seat plus a double seat takes one single cover and one double front seat cover.
Which layout do you have?
- Two single front seats. Most motorhomes, the VW California and Multivan, and campers that were built with two captain seats. Use one single seat cover per seat.
- Driver seat and a double passenger seat. Most panel vans and many self-builds. Use a single cover for the driver and our double front seat cover, which covers both passenger places in one piece. Check the size guide to make sure the double cover fits your passenger seat.
Van by van
Fiat Ducato
The Ducato is the base of most motorhomes in Europe, and the Citroën Jumper and Peugeot Boxer are built on the same base. Motorhome cabs usually have two swivel captain seats. Panel vans and many conversions have a driver seat and a double passenger seat. See the Fiat Ducato seat covers.
VW Transporter T4, T5, T6 and California
Panel vans and Kombis usually come with a driver seat and a double passenger seat. The California and Multivan have two single front seats. See the VW Transporter seat covers.
Ford Transit Custom
Most Transit Custom and Tourneo Custom vans have a driver seat and a double passenger seat. See the Ford Transit Custom seat covers.
Renault Trafic
The Trafic follows the same pattern: a driver seat and a double passenger seat in most vans, two single seats in some camper conversions. See the Renault Trafic seat covers.
Mercedes Sprinter
Panel vans usually have a driver seat and a double passenger seat. Motorhomes on the Sprinter usually have two captain seats. See the Mercedes Sprinter seat covers.
Armrests, swivel bases and built-in belts
On captain seats, the cover goes over the backrest and the seat cushion. The armrests stay outside the cover and still fold, and the swivel base stays uncovered, so turning the seat works as before. If your seat belt comes out of the backrest itself, check the compatibility guide before you order.
Living with it
Camper seats get more than driving: wet jackets, sandy feet, a dog after the beach, coffee at the table. The waterproof coating keeps spills on the surface, and the covers go in the washing machine on a cold cycle and dry on a line. Our washing guide has the details.
When these covers are not the right choice
Universal covers are made for seats with a headrest, separate or built into the backrest. If your seat has no headrest at all, a universal cover will not sit properly, and a made-to-measure cover is the better buy. The size guide tells you before you spend anything.
