Bench cover returns almost never happen because the cover was bad. They happen because “bench” describes about nine different objects, and someone guessed instead of measured. This is the five-minute tape-measure session that ends the guessing — do it before ordering anything, from us or anyone.
The four measurements
- Backrest width, edge to edge at the widest point. This is the make-or-break number — van doubles typically run 95–115 cm.
- Backrest height, from the seat crease to the top (include headrests only if they're fixed; separate headrests get covered by the cover's pocket).
- Cushion depth, front lip to backrest.
- Cushion width — usually matches the backrest, but flared cushions exist, and they're exactly the surprise you're measuring to catch.
The two questions
Where do the belts live? Look at where the webbing exits: from the seat's own shoulder area (integrated — you need covers with belt cutouts positioned for van doubles, like ours) or from the B-pillar behind (simpler; most covers work). Does anything move? Fold-flat backrests, lift-up cushions with storage, removable mounts — movement argues for stretch fit at minimum, or the loose rug layer if the seat transforms weekly.
