Product pages give you dimensions; nobody can picture dimensions. So we did the obvious thing: took our standard tote — 51 cm wide, 35 cm tall, 13 cm deep — and fed it real cargo until we knew its limits personally. Results below, for everyone who's ever squinted at “51×35×13” trying to imagine their laptop in it.
The tech load
A 17-inch laptop fits with the lid fully below the rim — that's the headline, since 17 inches is the skepticism benchmark (full laptop guide). A 13-inch machine plus charger plus notebook plus water bottle plus lunch: comfortable, with the flat gusset keeping the laptop vertical.
The grocery load
One realistic weekly-shop bag: two milk cartons, a bread loaf, six apples, pasta boxes, a jar situation, and greens riding on top — roughly 9 kilos before the handles were consulted, and they had opinions available. Wine test, because someone asked: six bottles standing in the gusset, snug and clink-free with a towel woven between. Party logistics: solved.
The beach and weekend loads
Beach: three towels, sunscreen arsenal, water bottles, a paperback, and a folded jacquard rug strapped under the handles on top — the full essentials kit in one carry. Overnight: two days of summer clothes, toiletries and a book, which quietly makes this the minimalist weekender nobody markets it as.
The limits, honestly
It's not a suitcase: hardcover hauls past six start testing shoulders before seams (book people, your guide), and anything that must stay rigid — documents, artwork — wants a folder inside. And the cat did claim the empty bag as a bed within four minutes, which we're recording as a feature. The measured tote in all six prints: right here.
